The Quaid –e-Azam Musafir Khana is a project of the Quaid-e-Azam Patients Welfare Society a duly registered NGO.
• Mr.Shahid Hamid former Governor of the Punjab is the Chairman of the advisory board of the society
• President of the society is Mr.Shamim Ahmed Malik, who is an industrialist and Managing Director of Royal Paper Industries.
• Mr.Iftikhar Malik B.Sc (Econ) London is the Project Director of the Quaid-e-Azam Musafir Khana.
• Prof Dr.Mehmood Shaukat is the Finance Secretary and Technical Coordinator of the Quaid-e-Azam Patient Welfare Society.
• Prof.Dr Syed Muhammad Awais is Medical Advisor of the Quaid-e-Azam Patient

• This charitable society has built a sixth story high rise building which is known as Mehman Khana .It is located within the boundary wall of Mayo Hospital Lahore and the building’s cost is Rs: 60,000,000/-
• This charitable society serves the poor of the poorest patients who come to Mayo Hospital Lahore for treatment.
• The Musafar Khana has 500 steel beds for patients with foam mattresses, linen, blanket’s etc and additional accommodation for the attendant who accompany the patient. The patients and attendants are served free meal three times a day (mutton is cooked twice a week, halwa, zarda sweet dish etc three times a week). All the patients are given eggs and milk with breakfast.
• Medicines, implants and surgical items for operations are provided free of cost Lab Test.X-Rays, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI are done free of cost.
• Patient are also provided financial assistance on regular basis
• Paramedics and dresser daily attend to the dressing of the wounds of the patients.
• In conjunction with Edhi Foundation free ambulance service is provided.
• Patients and their family members are provided with rail, bus and air tickets (in the case of Northern areas) for returning home and also for insuring that they return to the hospital for the next doze of chemotherapy.
• Transportation of dead body, kafan dafan is arranged.
• Cash donations of Rs: 200/-Rs: 500/- and Rs: 1000/-is provided every month to cancer patients and other seriously ill patients.
• Individual trustees of the society take upon themselves, the entire expense of:
A-Knee joint replacement.
B-Heart value implant
C-Regular medication of kidney transplant patient.
D-Numerous amputation operations
E-Spinal injury cases are taken to renowned Neurosurgeons.

For the activities listed above, the Almighty has made the Musafir Khana is launching pad of noble missions.

The Society is making its huge share contribution towards increasing the literacy rate of the country. It has to its credit the construction of Primary and Secondary Schools. The running cost these schools is subsided by the society. It has also raised donation for the Pak-Turk School Project and is playing an active part in this noble commendable cause.
